The True Story of Playing the Moldovans at Tennis begins with a bet ...
... can writer Tony Hawks play and beat the entire Moldovan national football team at tennis, one by one?
Believing the challenge to be easy, Tony has a cunning plan to use the adventure as material for a new book, but on arriving in the former Soviet Republic of Moldova he realises he may have bitten off more than he can chew. Encountering gangsters, corruption, poverty and uncooperative football managers, will Tony win his bet against the odds or will Moldova be his undoing?
Based on the best-selling true book of the same name, and written, co-directed and starring the author Tony Hawks, Playing the Moldovans at Tennis is a unique British feature film.
