Moldova is an Eastern European state located between Romania and Ukraine. Independent since 1991, Moldova is growing economically, with increased tourism taking advantage of the beautiful natural landscapes and regional wine.
Probably the best-known work on Moldova is Tony Hawk's bestselling book Playing the Moldovans at Tennis, from which this film is adapted.

The official language is Moldovan but over a third of the population speak Romanian.
The 2012 Eurovision Song Contest entrant for Moldova was Pasha Parfeny, a star in his home country. Pasha came a respectable 11th.
